Northern Fiber Optic Link Project Public Survey
The proposed project, to be built and owned by the Kodiak Kenai Cable Company, will be a non-monopoly based fiber system, bringing high speed Internet, superior telephone and wireless service and high quality Television services to all of the coastal regions of Southwest, Western and Northern Alaska.
Support from Alaskans like you is critical because we are competing with the other 49 states for federal funding to support the construction on this project. If we receive funding this fall the full 5,700 kilometer system can be up and running in just 2 short years.
Once completed the project will run from Kodiak to King Cove, to Dutch Harbor, then Dillingham, to Naknek and King Salmon, to Platinum, to Bethel, to Nome, to Kotzebue and then up around the northwest tip of Alaska and finally connecting into Barrow and Prudhoe Bay. It will be the main backbone for all future telecommunications services to be built out to the nearly 150 communities in rural Western Alaska.
And because we are a non-monopoly company Western Alaskans will finally have a choice of high quality providers with much better speeds at less price per data package.
This really is an exciting project, but it needs your help! Please complete the questions below and together we will improve the lives of rural Alaskans.
