Why KKCC: Creating Opportunities Today for a Future of Positive Change

The Northern Fiber Link will have an immediate effect, directly involves almost 6,000 jobs across 23 states to perform the diversity of tasks required to deploy this submarine fiber-optic cable system.

In addition, access to secure fiber-based broadband will improve opportunities for education, health care, public safety; the exchange of scientific information, and operations of the federal agencies in commerce, natural resources and national security.

Capacity will be made available by KKCC to telecommunications carriers on a competitively neutral, non-monopoly basis at equal pricing.

The Kodiak Kenai Cable Company will offer what no other provider in Alaska does - a broadband system that will deliver end users a choice of more than one service provider.

KKCC will supply broadband capacity for any telecommunications carrier that wants it.
